On Wednesday, June 20th, a farm safety and mental well-being evening will be taking place at Tullow Mart in Co Carlow.
Hosted by Tullow Livestock Sales, in association with Awareness Head to Toe, the event is to occur between 7pm-9pm.
The five topics of discussion are to include; farm safety with machinery, farm quad and safety, livestock safety, a fodder conversation with Teagasc and P J Haskins veterinary discussion.
On top of this, former world sheep shearing champion George Graham will be giving a presentation on dealing with the area of mental well-being on the farm.
Additional guest speakers will be present from the Health Safety Authority (HSA), Farm Relief Services and Awareness Head to Toe.
Anyone can attend without having to pre-register and complimentary refreshments are to be provided towards the end of the evening.
Mart manager Eric Driver said that these topics are of crucial importance inside the farm gate to ensure both farmer and all family farm members are safe both physically and mentally as they go about their day to day work of the farm.
