As the heat wave continues, temperatures have reached as high as 28C in parts of the country today!

How are you spending your time in the rare Irish sun?

Below , we’ve included a list of locations in Dublin for our readers to visit as they try to make the most of the Irish summer.

Dublin Zoo

Having just welcomed a baby gorilla, Dublin Zoo really is a sight to see this summer.  Why not take the kids to learn about endangered wild animals? The Dublin Zoo is also a registered charity, which means that each time you visit, you’re contributing to the maintenance of the zoo, as well as it’s conservation programmes.

The Dublin Zoo website reads: “As one of the world’s oldest, yet popular zoos, the 28 hectare park in the heart of Dublin is home to some 400 animals in safe environment where education and conservation combine for an exciting and unforgettable experience!”

Stephen’s Green Park

And it’s free!

The National Gallery of Ireland

With over 10,000 works, including over 2,500 paintings, the National Gallery of Ireland makes for a fantastic day trip.

The Gallery houses artwork by Van Gogh, Money, Picasso, Vermeeer, Caravaggio and more!

Dundrum Town Centre

The Dundrum Town Centre makes our list in part because it is air conditioned, and in part because of the shops and restaurants you can visit as you try to cool down.

Located along the Luas tracks, the centre is a short trip from Dublin city centre. An underground car park with plenty of space also makes for an easy drive.
